I love a good fresh juice because it’s such an easy way to get a variety of colourful fruit and vegetable nutrients into the day. And I like choosing the combination depending on what I'm craving and what’s in season in our garden at Fuller Life Bali. Here are some all-time favourites:
Carrot + Apple + Ginger
Beta-carotene from carrots, polyphenols from apples and the naturally warming, spicy compounds in ginger. Bright, fresh and a great way to start the day.
Carrot + Orange + Pineapple + Turmeric
Sunshine in a glass! The fruits bring vitamin C, while carrots and turmeric add plenty of colourful plant compounds. Vitamin C supports collagen formation and helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
Celery + Cucumber + Spinach + Apple + Lemon
Light and refreshing. Spinach adds vitamins and minerals, while apple and lemon make all those greens easier to enjoy. This is one I reach for when I want something really fresh and hydrating.
Apple + Ginger + Beet
Earthy, sweet and full of colour with naturally occurring nitrates and betalains. Ginger brings its characteristic plant compounds, and apple balances everything out.
One little reminder: juice doesn't replace whole fruits and vegetables. You lose much of the fibre when you juice, so I see fresh juice as an addition to a varied diet, not a substitute for eating the whole plant.
Here’s my easy option: NingXia Red.
As much as I love fresh juice… I'm not always in the mood to wash the juicer.
...Or peel ginger.
...Or chop five different things.
...Or clean the kitchen afterwards.
That's why NingXia Red fits beautifully into my life. It's a ready-to-drink blend made with Ningxia wolfberry purée along with blueberry, aronia, cherry, pomegranate and plum. So you're still getting a variety of fruit-derived nutrients and plant compounds without having to prepare anything.
Here's my recipe:
- Fresh juice when I have the time.
- NingXia Red as the foundation.
- Whole fruits and vegetables during nourishing snacks and meals.
The most useful option is simply the one that's convenient enough to actually become part of your routine.
